According to the Canons of Dort, the issue “Once being saved ever being saved” has two dimensions. Firstly, the Providence of God (conserve), secondly Perseverance of the Saints (perservo). For those who stands firm in his faith, he does not has problem of “Once being saved ever being saved”; but how to explain why those disloyal to their faith? We can say that those disloyal to their faith, have no true faith indeed, however they could have true faith but loss faith during danger. “Perseverance of the Saints” is a good reminder for us that no one can boast of himself. From human perspective we could not be sure to insist to the end, we could only have faith in God’s promise, insisting our faith in Christ, till we meet Christ Jesus again.
