在二十世紀六十年代，普世基督教運動引發香港教會的基要主義和普世派的爭論。當時滕牧師是基要主義的學者和牧者。但由於滕牧師十分重視福音佈道， 所以他努力推動普世基督教運動以外的教會合一運動，他突破了基要主義和普世派長期的爭論。滕近輝牧師是世界華福中心的創辨人之一，而華福中心是為了推動華人教會往普天下去傳福音而成立的。

ABSTRACT

During the 1960s, the world ecumenical movement triggered an argument between the fundamentalist and ecumenical churches in Hong Kong. Rev. Teng was a pastor and scholar on the fundamentalist side. His concern for evangelism led him to seek unity among Chinese churches outside the ecumenical movement. The result of the breakthrough was the creation of the Chinese Coordination Centre of World Evangelism (CCCOWE) which he co-founded. This centre was established to mobilize Chinese churches to spread the gospel to nations all over the world.
