本文主要探討美索不達米亞的學術及書寫文化在青銅及鐵器時代對巴勒斯坦地區的影響,藉着探討美索不達米亞語言的通用性、受美索不達米亞文化影響的烏加列文化、不同地區文士的流動性、文士訓練形式的相似性,以及巴比倫帝國興起與猶大被擄的處境性,論證美索不達米亞的「蘇美阿卡德文士訓練課程」對巴勒斯坦地有深遠的影響,但這影響不是一種蓋本倚靠式的書寫抄襲影響,而是來自文化及口述傳統的共通性,這種影響是一種問接而非直接的影響。

ABSTRACT

This article explores the nature and the influence of the Mesopotamian scribal and professional culture in the ancient Syro-Palestinian region during the Late Bronze Age and the Iron Age. This surveys five areas: (1) the popularity of Akkadian in the international realm, (2) the contextualization of the Mesopotamian scribal training in local areas, especially in Ugaritic culture. (3) the mobility of scribes in the area, (4) the similarity of scribal training in different areas, (5) the rise of Neo-Babylonian Empire and the Jewish exile. By surveying these, the paper wishes to contend that the influence upon the Palestinian area is strong, albeit in the sense that this influence should not be regarded as direct literary dependence, but as shared oral and cultural notions, in which the influence is of indirect, not direct, nature.
