中港神學理念的差異──對「文化基督徒」論辯的分析 / 陳慎慶

「文化基督徒」論爭是指從1995年9月到1996年5月在香港基督教《時代論壇》週報出現的一場辯論。參與辯論的基督教學者來自香港、中國大陸和台灣,分別屬於普世教會和福音教會的傳統。整個辯論顯示了參與辯論的基督教學者對於基督教神學的性質、方法和任務的理解在基本理念上有極大的差異。本文作者對該辯論的議題作系統分析,並指出該辯論對1997年以後中港處境新情勢下的神學教育發展的意義。本文在結論中提出:在辯論中出現的一些評論,如香港神學界排斥中國大陸的學者,或在九七「語言轉向」下「北京語對港語的壓迫」,均缺乏證據支持。其次,作者在本文中提供了一個神學理念差異的分析,並建議進一步開展批判評論。最後,作者觀察到中港神學發展的不同趨勢。在香港,「專業主義」將會漸趨重要;而在中國大陸,神學發展將會走向兩極化,即社會——文化性的神學和與傳統教會親和的神學。作者提出,在香港回歸中國大陸以後,香港的神學機構可以作為跨地域性的神學教育基本建設,對中國大陸的神學教育提供資源和支援。
ABSTRACT
The “Cultural Christians” controversy refers to a debate in Hong Kong Christian Times from September 1995 to May 1996. Those Christian scholars who joined the debate came from Hong Kong, Mainland China and Taiwan, and from ecumenical as well as evangelical camps. The debate reveals the conceptual differences in the understanding of the nature, methods and tasks of Christian theology among Christian scholars. This paper provides a systematic analysis on the issues of the debate, and highlights its implications on theological education in the post-1997 Hong Kong-China context. The paper concludes by suggesting, first, the comments such as “Hong Kong theologians are excluding Mainland-Chinese scholars from the intellectual circle,” and “the discourse of Hong Kong will be oppressed by the discourse of Beijing in anticipation of 1997” raised in the debate are ungrounded. Second, while the conceptual differences of Christian theology among scholars are expounded in the study, further assessment and criticism is worthwhile to be continued in future. Third, it is observed that there is a trend of professionalism in the theological circle of Hong Kong, and the theological studies in Mainland China will go in two directions, i.e., the socio-cultural one and the traditional, church-affiliated one. The theological institutions in Hong Kong could serve as a cross-regional infrastructure for the theological education in China after 1997.
