近年，中國政府意識到必須重建一套基本的價值觀，以改變社會淡薄的道德觀念。中國社會正步進一個新形勢，在這個破舊立新的時刻，基督教的倫理道德觀念如何能夠作出貢獻呢？在胡溫體制的新治國方略之下，各大宗教都需要發揮其積極因素，共同參與建構具中國特色的社會主義和諧社會之進程。本文指出中國政府構建社會主義和諧社會的理念，對於基督教在中國的發展利弊參半。基督教倫理蘊含相當豐富的和諧理念，可讓中國政府摘取利用的資源絕不遜於傳統中國宗教。但與此同時，中國基督教必須堅持信仰的純正，不成為被政治利用的工具。一方面，基督教可能會因為不讓步或妥協而被邊緣化，以致影響基督信仰的傳播。但另一方面，中國政府卻不會忽視基督教的力量，也應該會保持五大宗教之間的平衡。

ABSTRACT

In recent years, the Chinese Government has recognized the need to rebuild a set of basic values to improve the moral standards of the Chinese society. What contribution can Christian ethics make under the new circumstances of the Chinese society? Under the new governing strategies of the Hu-Wen Government, each major religion has to exploit its positive elements to participate in China’s construction of a harmonious socialist society. This paper argues that the idea of constructing a harmonious socialist society is both beneficial and detrimental to the development of Christianity in China. Although traditional Chinese religions have been regarded as advocates of harmony, Christian ethics also comprises a rich source of harmonious elements which can be harnessed by the Chinese government. The Chinese churches must ensure that they will not become a political tool of the Government while upholding the doctrines of the Christian faith at the same time. On the one hand, the Christian churches could be marginalized as a result of not compromising, thereby affecting the spread of Christianity. However, on the other hand, the Chinese Government would not overlook the influence of Christianity and would probably maintain a good balance among the five major religions in China.
