神學教育的邊緣化──二、三十年代中國神學教育的困擾/梁家麟

撮要

本文旨在探討二十世紀二十年代神學教育跟主流分離以後,對神學教育和中國教會所產生的影響,並描述神學教育在抗日戰爭爆發前的一些變化,討論時限定為1927至1937年。收回教育權運動以後,由於基督教大學所附設的神學系不獲承認資格,發展乃受嚴重影響,資金缺絀,學生來源尤其有問題,最後皆免不了式微的命運。反之獨立的神學院都有較佳的發展,特別是保守信仰的,在學生數目和教育程度上都有所提升。部份聖經學校亦有長足進步。作者指出,基督教大學的神學系傾向自由主義神學,企圖擺脫與社會的聯繫而向社會靠攏,卻又無法得售,造成雙重的邊緣化,是最主要的問題所在。

 

ABSTRACT

This paper deals with the Chinese theological education in 1927-1937, the years after the Recovery of Educational Rights Movement and before the Second Sino-Japanese War. Ever since the theological divisions of the Christian universities were not allowed to register and their academic qualification not recognized by the Chinese authority, they turned out declined by a drastic drop of student enrollment. Most of them closed down or amalgamated to other institutions. At the same time, many independent theological schools, especially those of conservative background, had much better development with good student enrollment and a continuous elevation of academic standard. The author discerns the most significant reason of this phenomenon was that theological divisions of Christian universities were almost influenced by liberal theology. Many decided to dissociate themselves with the Chinese churches and accommodate to the expectations of the secular society. They were trapped into a dual marginalization when the secular society did not recognize the contributions of religious studies to the Chinese world.
