撮要

掃羅被棄敘事的研究主要所涉及的領域包括意識形態批判及悲劇性閱讀。意識形態批判期望以政治取向來詮釋掃羅被棄，認為掃羅被棄的敘事企圖正當化大衛王朝的合法地位，表面上掃羅被棄是因為違背神的命令，但背後隱祕的卻是政治性的意圖。悲劇性閱讀視掃羅為悲劇性的代表，以悲劇性的視野嘗試說明神那種黑暗及魔鬼的一面。本文為這兩個進路進行文獻評述，說明其利與弊。

ABSTRACT

Researches into the narrative of the rejection of King Saul involve ideological criticism and tragedy framework. Ideological criticism aims to interpret the rejection of Saul as a political propaganda for legitimizing the Davidic kingdom. Scholars have tended to uncover the political motive behind the narrative. The tragedy paradigm represents a cluster of scholars who categorize the figure of Saul as tragedy. They approach the narrative with a “tragic vision” to uncover the “dark side” or “the demonic side of God” in the framework of tragic fate. This paper aims to survey these two approaches and attempts to illustrate their merits and drawbacks.
