周聯華的《講道法》（1964）及後的增訂版《新編講道法》（1987）出版以來成為華人神學院的標準講道學教科書和參考書超過半個世紀。可是，這麼重要和具影響力的華人講道學著作，長期以來被學界所忽略。本文將指出《新編講道法》其實是講道學本色化的先鋒之作，只是沒有明確表明出來。筆者將透過比較1964 年初版和1987 年增訂版的內容，找出新增的部分作深入的分析和解讀，並印證這些內容就是周聯華透過反思在華人教會服侍三十多年的經驗得出來的講道本色化的進路。

總的來說，本色化講道學就是要優先關注講道中「人」的元素：講員和聽眾，並兩者的關係。所以，傳道人的靈命、品格和學問的修養是關鍵所在。而講道是對人講的，是在滿足人內心的需要，故此傳道人要與會眾建立互愛互信的關係，了解聽者的需要，會眾也樂於給予回饋。這種互愛互信的關係能提升成為普通的講員成為優秀的講道人。

ABSTRACT

Lien Hwa Chow’s Homiletics (1964) and the later revised & expanded edition The New Homiletics (1987) have been the standard preaching textbooks and reference books in Chinese seminaries for more than half a century. However, such an important and influential Chinese preaching textbook has long been overlooked by the academia. This article points out that The New Homiletics is in fact the pioneer of indigenous homiletics of its kind, but without the intention stated clearly. By comparing the 1964 edition with the 1987 revised & expanded edition, the author pinpoints the added content and conducts an in-depth analysis and interpretation. The author proves that the book is the result of Chow’s reflection on his 30 years experiences of serving in Chinese churches, and thus provides directions of constructing indigenous homiletics.

In summary, the priority of Chinese preaching is to focus on the “humanistic” element of preaching: the preacher and the audience, and the relationship between the two. Therefore, the spiritual life, character and learning of the preacher are the key. Preachers speak to people and meet the needs of people’s hearts. Therefore, the preacher must establish a close relationship of mutual love and trust with the congregation and understand the needs of the listeners. In return, the congregation would be willing to give back. This relationship of mutual love and trust can elevate an ordinary preacher to an outstanding preacher.
